MOST of us have probably wondered about the places at the end of the London Underground lines. You hear them so often if you use the Tube every day –“this is a Central Line train to West Ruislip” – but what’s West Ruislip actually like?

We’ve rounded up the best things to do in the places at the end of all the Tube lines, according to TripAdvisor.

Metropolitan Line: Amersham

Amersham is in Zone 9 of the Tube and is actually in Buckinghamshire.

Some of the best things to do there include the Memorial Gardens, the Amersham Fair Organ Museum.

Metropolitan Line: Watford

Apart from the incredible Warner Brother Studios Harry Potter tour there’s a load of other great things to do in Watford including Cassiobury Park, Watford Palace Theatre and Cheslyn House and Gardens.

Metropolitan/Piccadilly Line: Uxbridge

Uxbridge is the end of the line for one branch of both the Metropolitan Line and the Piccadilly Line.

You wouldn’t get bored if you wanted to pay a visit as its top attractions include visiting the Battle of Britain Bunker, enjoying Fassnidge Park and walking the Hillingdon Trail.

Piccadilly Line: Cockfosters

If you’re into outdoors activities, there’s lots to do at this end of the Piccadilly line.

From Go Ape high ropes and the Trent Park Equestrian Centre to Jacks Lake and Jungle Falls.

Central Line: West Ruislip

At the west end of the Central Line you may choose to play a round at Ruislip Golf Course or head to Ruislip Lido with the kids - home to London’s very own beach.

Central Line: Epping

And at the other end it’s Epping.

One of the best attractions is Epping Forest. There is also impressive Copped Hall, an 18th Century country house.

Wimbledon has lots on offer all year round, though, including Wimbledon Windmill Museum, Wimbledon Common and Cannizaro Park.

Apart from spotting famous people like Tom Hardy and David Attenborough, there’s plenty to do in Richmond.

Stroll through the deer park and, if you walk a little way, pay a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. You’ve also got Ham House and Richmond Theatre high up on TripAdvisor recommendations.

District Line: Upminster

Thames Chase is a lovely day out. The Stubbers Adventure Centre and Delta Force Paintball also has some great reviews.

This end of the Victoria Line is much more central than the end of most Tube lines, giving you some different options for the best things to do.
