Who will be special guest at this year’s carol concert?

RAINBOW Trust Children’s Charity is hosting its 11th annual celebrity-studded London carol concert at the stunning St Paul’s Church, Knightsbri­dge on Thursday December 5 to raise vital funds to support families caring for a life threatened or terminally ill child.

Special guests and readers at the event, listed in previous years as one of London’s top Carol Concerts, include Cressida Cowell, popular children’s author of How To Train Your Dragon, Jill Halfpenny known for her roles in EastEnders and Coronation Street, Children’s Laureate, and actress Pippa Hayward, who has starred in shows ranging from The Green Wing to The Bodyguard, actor Katherine Parkinson and actor Callum Turner.

Guests will also be treated to performanc­es by X Factor contestant and chart-topping artist Diane Vickers.

Hundreds of guests are expected to attend the much-loved event and will be welcomed with mulled wine and mince pies from 6pm before listening to a range of wonderful festive readings and music against a magical candlelit backdrop.

The Cheam School Chapel Choir will sing arrangemen­ts of classical Christmas songs and lead the congregati­onal singing of traditiona­l Christmas Carols.

Rainbow Trust has eight care teams of Family Support Workers across England across England, including two in London, covering some Central London boroughs, South Buckingham­shire, East Berkshire, NW London, and South Hertfordsh­ire; Surrey, covering Kent, SE/SW London and Sussex; Essex, also covering NE London; and Southampto­n, covering Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex, South Wiltshire and The Isle of Wight helping over 2,500 families at home, in hospital and in the community, making life a little easier.

“Christmas can often be one of the hardest times of the year for the families we support. This event will get people into the festive spirit while fundraisin­g for an immensely important cause meaning our Family Support Workers can help those families have the best Christmas possible.”
