MANY know Bryan Adams for timeless classics such as Everything I Do, Heaven, and of course Summer of ‘69. But the Canadian born rockstar is also recognised in many circles for his philanthropy work.

Through his charity, The Bryan Adams Foundation, the singer revealed a brand new state of the art playground for Park Walk primary school in Chelsea.

The playground, which was opened on Friday, is fitted with all the makings of an elite playground experience.

The play area has everything from roman rings, a climbing wall, tightropes, balance beams, impact absorbing subsurface and even a parkour area.

Bryan Adams said: “Screen time should never be allowed to eclipse play time. This wonderful playground will give so many children the opportunity to learn through play, to create lasting memories and to build friendships with their peers.”

This is the second playground renovation carried out by The Bryan Adams Foundation, having completed a new playground at Ashburnham Community school, also in Kensington and Chelsea.

Park Walk school headteacher Emily Caldwell was equally excited about how the new playground will help pupils flourish. She said: “The new playground at Park Walk Primary School was designed to give the pupils opportunities to be creative, imaginative and active all at once.

“The concept grew from the sunflower emblem of the school to a spectacular maze of endless adventures.

“With a treehouse, willow dome, outdoor classroom, climbing wall and parkour area

Screen time should never be allowed to eclipse play time.

– it really has made dreams come true for the pupils at Park Walk.”

The Bryan Adams Foundations started shortly after the 2006 tsunami that hit southern Asia.

The Foundation aims to improve the quality of people’s lives around the world by providing financial grants to support the most vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals in society.

It aims particularly to advance education and learning opportunities for children and young people worldwide, believing that an education is the best gift that a child can be given.
