Police name 31-year-old man who died in Hounslow town centre stabbing
A 31-YEAR-OLD man has died after being stabbed in the centre of Hounslow.
Met Police were called to Staines Road at 12.30am on Saturday June 25, following reports of a “seriously-injured man”.
The man, confirmed by police as Karamjeet Singh Reel from Hounslow, was described by colleagues as a “popular, kind, gentle and genuine” man.
Right Tiles, where the victim is believed to have worked, took to social media and GoFundMe to share the first pictures of the victim.
Met Police officers and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and found a man with “stab injuries”.
Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s family have been
informed and a post-mortem examination will take place to formally identify the man.
Detective Chief Inspector James Shirley, of Specialist Crime, said: “Our investigation continues at pace to unpick the events that led to Karamjeet’s murder. While we are making progress we still need to speak to anyone who was in the area of Staines Road in Hounslow in the early hours of Saturday June 25 and saw the events that led to Karamjeet being attacked.
“I would ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, to get in contact with my officers – it could prove to be a crucial piece of the wider picture that enables us to identify whoever is responsible.”
A cordon remains in place and a forensics tent has been put up outside The Moon Under Water Wetherspoons, in Staines Road.
Tributes have come flooding in for the man and flowers have been laid at the scene where he died.
There have been no arrests made and police are urging people who were in the area at the time of the incident have been urged to come forward with eye-witness accounts, photos and videos.
Drivers have also been asked to come forward with dashcam footage.
A special post-mortem examination took place at Uxbridge Mortuary on Saturday and gave the cause of death as a stab wound.
