“The ambulance arrived so quickly. The air ambulance landed in the local park. I just can’t believe it really.”

While another local resident, 43-year-old Andy Panayiotou, said: “I only moved here in November. I do not feel unsafe, it just feels out of character. We were all quite surprised. It feels very surreal, really.”

Detective chief inspector Katherine Goodwin, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area of Cowley Road, near to the junction with Frayslea just after 7pm on 6 July, who may have seen anything that may help with our investigation.

“It is a busy road and a number of people would have been on foot in the area or in vehicles. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have a dashcam footage.”
