MIXOLOGY
The elaboration from fresh sugarcane juice only confers an aromatic strength and a vegetal organoleptic orientation, which makes SAINT JAMES Agricole Rhums the perfect ingredient for mixology. The brand is at the forefront of the new mixology trend with its international cocktail competition The Bartenders Society, which highlights the know-how and aromatic complexity of SAINT JAMES Agricole Rhums. The contest is held in our key countries across Europe and Asia, and each finalist competes in front of a prestigious jury of renowned bartenders and Rum experts at our global final in Paris. The jury elected Summer CHEN, who came from Singapore to sublimate SAINT JAMES Rhum Agricole from Martinique! The special jury prize has been awarded to André DUCAN from Canada for his wonderful work and creative spirit. Creativity, boldness and friendship were the key words of the exceptional mixology final.
In response to bartenders need and to become the unmistakable brand in mixology, SAINT JAMES recently launched its bitters. Two years of research through ancient pharmacist, distiller and bartender manuals were necessary to come up with this typical historic French Bitter which offers a perfect balance between the four essential dimensions: floral, herbal, spicy and of course bitter.
A UNIQUE HERITAGE SINCE 1765
Marc Sassier, Master distiller for SAINT JAMES since 2002, ensures the quality of SAINT JAMES Rhums respecting the complete elaboration process of the AOC Martinique.
The SAINT JAMES Distillery in Martinique is proud to have integrated sustainable development in its long-term strategy, with treatment of waste and reuse of water for irrigation, but also ensuring production, distillation and bottling close to our 450 hectares of sugar cane plantations to minimize transport.
The opening in September of new ageing cellars, La Salle, will permit to SAINT JAMES to increase its storage capacities and reinforce its legacy and true local anchoring.
Our site in Sainte-Marie also hosts a 19th century House where visitors can discover the entire history of Agricole Rhum and SAINT JAMES from 1765 to the present day, with a photographic exhibition and a unique collection of engravings, labels and old bottles. In the heart of the drink tourism, SAINT JAMES Distillery & Rum Museum retraces the history and evolution of traditional stills and is one of the most visited place in Martinique.
