WITH the search for this year’s cream of the crop launched last week with the Cheshire Business Awards 2016, this week we turn our attention to some of the individual categories for which we are seeking entries. ● Employer of the Year:

We are looking for the employers who can best demonstrate how their leadership and human resource policies support staff development, engagement and satisfaction creating a positive and supportive workplace with a well motivated and well trained team.

The winner of this award will be more than just a good company to work for, their culture will deliver commercial results and they will be an inspiration to other businesses.

Last year’s winner was the telecoms company Chess – more than 90% of its employees scored it as a ‘great place to work’, the second highest score in the country according to The Sunday Times Best Companies Survey. ● Corporate Social Responsibility Award:

Does your business have schemes, initiatives or policies which have a positive impact of your local community?

Whether you provide employment opportunities for young or disadvantaged people, show unrivalled support for local charities or even contribute to community schemes, make sure you receive the recognition you deserve and enter this award.

Last year’s winner was Prism Solutions Ltd, a company which uses its expertise to support local charities.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is delighted to sponsor the Corporate Social Responsibility award.

LJLA handles more than 4.5 million passengers per year with flights to more than 60 destinations in the UK and Europe with onward worldwide connections.

Over the past 18 months, flights have been secured from six new airlines, with 15 new services announced to 13 new destinations, bringing more than 90 additional flights per week.

Already recognised for its relaxed, hassle free environment and best in class operational performance, LJLA has further invested in airport facilities continuing to improve the passenger experience and create the airport this region loves.

The airport is also one of the area’s major employers, attracting inward investment and bringing significant tourism benefits, helping to boost the region’s economy.

Liverpool John Lennon is the faster, easier, friendlier airport of choice for passengers from across the region.
