Health trust in call to LGBT community
A MENTAL health body is looking for views in Halton on how it can improve its services for residents who are LGBT.
The 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust wants lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans members of the public to share their comments and suggestions, which will be used to shape the organisation’s ‘community physical healthcare service equality and diversity plan’.
A public engagement meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 28, at the Bluebell Resource centre in Huyton where those attending will be able to give their feedback.
The session will include videos, presentations, engagement work and a video diary chair to capture service users’ thoughts, as well as offering an opportunity for informal discussions with healthcare professionals.
Beverley Tunstall, 5 Boroughs quality matron, said: “Understanding how people’s differences, cultural expectations and social status affect their experiences is key to the provision of effective and high-quality health and care services for all.
“Through seeking the views of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans service users the trust can work to ensure that any inequalities to health outcomes are addressed as the organisation continually seeks to empower service users by offering the right care in the right place at the right time.”
