HFH U7 Reds 9 Ince Rose Bridge U7 8 A BRILLIANT team display from Halton Farnworth Hornets U7s Reds against a well drilled Ince Rose Bridge side saw them squeeze home 9-8.

Delays in getting to the ground meant the Hornets’ team was short on numbers at kick-off.

To their credit, though, they all pulled together and all excelled themselves with terrific running and tackling from Cian Winstanley and Alfie Grabaskey and strong running from Aiden Clarke and Mason Rigby.

When all players eventually turned up there was some fantastic attacking play from Charlie George, who is making a habit of scoring a hat-trick, and Ollie Jenkins whose great barnstorming runs earned him two tries in the encounter.

In defence there was an outstanding display from James Prescott who picked up the top tackler award and also scored a hat-trick.

Cian Winstanley was the other Hornets’ try-scorer.

The coaches’ award went to Casey Collins who seemed to be involved in every play in the contest.

The man-of-the-match accolade went to George Sanderson who led from the front with strong running and brilliant tackles.

Every player once again did the coaching staff and parents proud in a fine overall team performance. HFH Reds 9 Leigh East 11 THIS was a tough encounter for the Reds against a very well organised Leigh East side as they went down to an 11-9 defeat.

Leigh went 3-0 up and it was always going to be difficult to come out on top.

Captain and man-ofthe-match Oliver Griffin Jones also went over for a pair of tries.

George Attwood and the Hornets’ top tackler Jackson Tuihalamaka also got a try apiece.
