-

HFH U11 30 Thatto Heath U11 30 HALTON Farnworth Hornets’ U11s shared the spoils with Thatto Heath in a game where the lead constantly changed hands.

Hornets struck first with a try from Tom Fallon but Thatto hit back with a couple of scores to take the lead.

The see-saw game continued as Hornets responded with tries from Dan O’Neill and Ryan Moran only for Thatto to cross again to level the scores at half-time.

Thatto were first to score in the second period but coaches’ award winner Tom Hussey once again drew Hornets level.

Thatto looked to have snatched victory with a late try but Hornets were not finished and top tackler Finnlay Hill showed his talent in attack to score the equalising try.

Hornets’ man-of-thematch went to Joey Nulty. Blackbrook U8 12 HFH U8 Greens 5 HORNETS U8 Greens travelled to St Helens and as expected were welcomed with a big and experienced team.

Within the first few minutes Hornets were feeling somewhat battered with big hits from Blackbrook.

The home side scored four tries early on but something clicked and Hornets woke up and started tackling hard with some excellent defensive efforts on their line.

They then managed to break upfield and scored tries through Connor Simons, Lewis Lunt, Ollie Reeves, Frankie Doyle and Jack Campbell.

This game was a big physical task for the boys, and although it ended in defeat they should be proud of their efforts as they gave their utmost until the final whistle.

Awards went to Tom Krause for top tackler; Charlie Walker was the coaches’ award recipient; and Nathan Percival was the Hornets’ man-of-thematch.
