Looking back at year as business connector

-

ASENIOR project manager with Fujitsu has returned to his main job after a year on secondment as Halton’s ‘Business Connector’.

For the last 12 months, Steve Howarth has been working to boost collaboration between companies and the voluntary sector.

Projects included the launches of the Halton Foundation and of the Halton Soup microfunding event.

Before leaving, Steve thanked everyone he has worked with and said there is a ‘great opportunity’ in Halton for businesses to work more closely with the voluntary sector for mutual benefit.

Steve was the second Halton Business Connector and will be followed by a successor to be appointed.

He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone I have had the pleasure and privilege to meet and work with over the last year.

“Thank you for your help, support and generosity.

“I started this role not really sure what to expect, but I knew I was going to learn a lot, and so I did.

“I have learned about the great work that is being done in the community, voluntary and charity sectors in Halton.

“I have seen the support and generosity that allows this work to be done, support and generosity from both public and private sector.

“I have also seen that in a good partnership the public and private sector can learn from third sector organisations.”
