THOMAS STOTT (TOM)

THE Funeral of Mr Thomas Stott (Tom) of Chapel Lane, Cronton, Widnes has taken place, his death having occurred at Millbrow Nursing Home on May 13, surrounded by his loving family, aged 77.

A service was held at Cronton Methodist on June 1, conducted by Rev. Jenny MacGregor, followed by cremation at Widnes Crematoriu­m.

Tom was well known within the Widnes Area and worked for Speeds Electrical, Handley and Becks, Co-op Milk and finally Manweb, where he was a meter reader for more than 35 years.

Tom was married to Pat and had a daughter Jean and a granddaugh­ter, Leah.

He was a keen gardener and did his family’s garden. Another hobby was cycling and he enjoyed time spent locally far afield and a typical Sunday afternoon ride to Southport, also doing a friends garden in Wigan. He maintained contact with a large number of past colleagues and friends from his school days. The family felt humbled to hear and read tributes left by everyone who attended.

Family Mourners: Pat (wife), Jean (daughter), Leah( granddaugh­ter) and Frank (granddaugh­ter’s partner), Martin and Judith Stott, John Roberts, Lynn Roberts, David Stott, Henry Stott, Mr and Mrs Ian Stott, Celia Jackson, Veronica and Alf Sherratt, Sandra and John Kirkham, Hazel, Stuart and Jamie Landon, Bruce and Margaret Beesley, (cousins and their families), Molly Stott (sister-inlaw).

General Mourners: Too numerous to mention, but whose support was greatly appreciate­d.

Bearers: Martin Stott, David Stott, John Roberts, Alan Murdoch, Stuart and Jamie Landon.

Donations to MacMillan Nurses were in excess of £450.
