Magnificen­t seven sees Bowling Club roll past the Cricketers Arms

ON Friday evening, the Widnes & District Darts Summer League sponsored by The Corpy Club commenced.

In Section Three, the Cricketers Arms ‘B’ took on Simms Cross Institute, who took the first game through Dave Evans.

L Kavanah matched that for the Cricketers Arms ‘B’.

The Stute then came back with three in a row through Tony Green, Brian Abbott and Peter Phillips.

S Cowley secured the penultimat­e game for the Cricketers Arms ‘B’, whilst Andy Abbott took the final contest and the match for Simms Cross Institute.

The Cricketers Arms ‘B’ then went on to play Widnes Bowling Club.

Widnes Bowling Club were in superb form taking all seven games and the match through Ray Hatton, Alex McGill, Dave Gerrard, Ben Lyons, Mark Smith, Tex Bowles and James Brown.

In Section Four, The Majors Arms took on the Moorfield.

The Majors started the encounter well, taking three in a row through Luke Carey, Darren Attwood and Mark France.

The Moorfield retaliated well winning their own three via Jamie Donegan, Ryan Condron and Ray Dutton.

Adam Mellor then gave the Moorfield the match.

The Mill Brow SC took on the Millfield, whose Chris Taylor took the first game.

The Brow levelled through Brian Spruce.

A further four wins from Mark Harrison (18 darts), Paul Woodward, Chris Bright and Paul Linger then ensured the Brow’s victory.

Ronnie Greylish claimed the final game for the Millfield, but the Mill Brow SC took the match.
