Windisch and Rigby hit form as TNC are still ones to catch in top flight

-

THE Runcorn ABC Taxis Darts League this week reached the midpoint of the regular summer season with the turnaround in fixtures.

The results from this week saw Union Taverners ‘B’ open up a four-point gap at the top of Section Three when doubling up on Halton Arms 6-3.

Family Ties continued their revival in this section with another 6-3 victory against an in-form Flying Wickets side, which was helped by a 19 dart leg from Ste Shackelton Jr.

Perhaps stealing the accolades this week in Section Three, however, were Grapes.

They edged Wanderers 5-4, despite an 18-dart game from the latter’s Chris Ellams, to finally record their first victory of the season.

In Section Four, Pavilions were able to move up to second place after just getting the better of bottom side Devastaters 5-4.

This was helped by the Union Taverners ‘A’ seeing off the Cherrykees, also by a 5-4 final scoreline.

Wilsons Woodchuckers remain one of three teams still to have a perfect record in the league as they beat Nomads 6-3.

Wilsons ‘B’ also recorded a strong victory when winning 8-1 against Banana Splits with help from Peter Hough’s 19-dart leg.

One of the other teams with a flawless record is Castle Double Tops. They blunted Archers 5-4 in Section Five to stay clear top.

Quarrymen consolidated their position in second place when blanking lowly Dock Spears 9-0.

Addy Lads moved up to third in Section Five with a narrow 5-4 victory over Welly Mixed.

Section One saw The Lads overtake Clarry B after beating them 6-3.

Tricorn affirmed their aspirations of a top four finish when just getting by Dev Superstars 5-4.

Halfway Gents retained hopes of the title as they overpowered Has Beens 8-1 which featured an 18-dart game from Paul McManus.

The third team retaining an untarnished record is TNC.

They overcame Wilsons ‘A’ 6-3 with a 14-dart game from Karl Windisch and a 19-dart leg from Colin Rigby.

Beechwood now have a four point barrier at the summit of Section Two after overcoming Fiddlers III 5-4.

Halfway Mixed were able to leapfrog their opponents as they beat Bridge View 6-3, whilst Navvy Lads moved up to second place as they beat Addy Dogs 5-4.

Halton Marauders were also able to grab a victory over Doo Waps, 7-2 the final scoreline.
