No stopping Tigers Head who roar on again with full house triumph

IN Section One of the Runcorn & District Bowling Associatio­n, pacesetter­s Tigers Head had another full house victory – 168-70 – against Pavilions ‘B’ with no fewer than five players winning to single figures.

Fred Worrall and John Rawlinson both won 21-3, Jim Large and Chris Koral triumphed 21-7 and Craig Wheeler was victorious 21-9.

Second-placed Pavilions ‘A’ took on their rivals from The Grapes and ran out the winners 162-103.

Graham Oliver (21-4) and John Briggs (21-7) led the way for the Sandy Lane outfit.

The only reply for The Grapes came from Ron Dwyer who won his game 21-15.

Third-placed Kingswood ‘A’ travelled to take on Goshawk ‘A’ and returned with a 147-119 victory.

Steve Jones (21-5) and Barry Shaw (21-9) led the way for Kingswood. Jean Mulvey and Joan Southerton who both won 21-14 had the best replies for Goshawk.

Section Two leaders Corporatio­n took on a weakened Subscripti­on side and ran out the winners 159-77.

Leading the way for the Widnes outfit were John Hope (21-4) and Jordan Abbott (21-7) with teammates Ollie Kerr and Kevin Marsh each winning 21-9. The best reply for Subscripti­on came from John Owen who won 21-12.

Second-placed Egerton Memorial took on Overton in fourth and recorded a 165-110 victory.

Dionne Kinsey (21-6) and George Aspinwall (21-8) led the way for Egerton.

John Smith’s 21-18 win was the best reply for Overton.

Third-placed Kingswood ‘B’ took on Pavilions ‘D’ running out the winners 156-92.

Shaun Donnelly (21-2) and father Graham (21-4) led the way for the winners with Peter Dumbill’s 21-09 the only reply for Pavilions.

Section Three leaders Norton Arms ‘B’ travelled to take on the Ladies from Pavilions ‘C’ and bagged a 148-133 win.

Leading the way for Norton were brothers Neil Scott (21-8) and Keith Scott (21-9).

Doreen Goodwin’s 21-12 victory was the best reply for Pavilions.

Rock Park ‘A’ continued with their chase of the pacesetter­s with a 158-115 victory against Goshawk ‘B’.

Nicola Molyneux (21-3) and Dave Edwards (21-8) led the way for the Park.

Marge Dickinson’s 21-14 win was the best reply for Goshawk.

Third-placed War Memorial travelled to take on fourthplac­ed Castle Park ‘B’ but the hosts were too strong for them and registered a 150-119 success.

Peter Snelson (21-4) was the outstandin­g player on the night followed closely by Mike Shields (21-7). Ron Houghton’s 21-10 was the best reply for War Memorial. ● Tonight sees the play-off for the Section Three Merit at Pavilions BC in Sandy Lane.
