DRUG DEALER IN CONTEMPT OF COURT FOR OUTBURST AT SENTENCE

AGRINNING former Widnes and Runcorn drug pusher has started 29 months in jail after an expletive-laden outburst at a judge.

Notorious criminal Sam Walker initially received 20 months behind bars at Liverpool Crown Court over a 100mph police motorway chase.

But he was handed extra time behind bars after ranting at Judge Steven Everett, comparing his sentence to the punishments handed out to some paedophiles.

After storming out of the dock, the 33-year-old – who was sent down for four years and eight months for his role in a gang peddling heroin and crack cocaine in Halton – refused to apologise and was given an additional three months in prison for contempt of court.

He then launched another foulmouthed tirade and Judge Everett hit him with a further six months in jail for a second contempt.

Walker said: “Nonces come to this court, they destroy people’s lives, they don’t get jail. I get jail.

“Where the f*** is the justice there? There is no justice for the victims of these paedophiles.

“That’s why every time I see them in jail I punch their heads in every chance I get. I dish out the justice because you don’t.”

The court heard the dangerous driving started on the Formby bypass at around 10pm on December 22 last year.

A police officer spotted Walker’s Ford Focus on the way to Switch Island and he failed to stop.

Edmund Heygarth, prosecuting, said a police helicopter was deployed as Walker reached 80mph on the 50mph road.

Running red lights and undertaking cars, he joined the M58 where he hit 100mph, joined the M6 and went to Ashton-in-Makerfield.

He ‘lost control’, spun around and drove on the pavement, before a police ‘stinger’ brought him to a halt.

Walker admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was banned for a further 12 months.

Prosecutors earlier agreed to drop drug allegations against Walker, relating to MDMA, cannabis and ketamine.

Judge Everett said when Walker was informed of the decision, he said he ‘wanted the police to be shown up for planting drugs’.

Judge Everett said his ‘dreadful’ record included ‘serious drug offences’, firearms and ‘some limited violence’.

He said: “The sad fact is he seems to have spent most of his adult life in prison. What a waste. He is throwing his life away.”

David Woods, defending, accepted Walker could have killed someone, but said he wanted to turn his life around.

He said Walker tried to get away from police ‘for no apparent reason it seems’ and added: “It was a poor decision from the very beginning.”

Judge Everett said it was ‘ appalling driving’ and remarked: “It is utterly astonishing that nobody was injured or killed.”

Furious Walker then shouted: “Little paedophiles come to this court and destroy people’s lives and get community orders”.

He was offered the chance to apologise, when Mr Woods said his client had acted ‘in the heat of the moment’.

However, Walker said: “I honestly don’t feel any of my views deserve an apology. If that deserves me getting an extended sentence, fine.”

Judge Everett described his conduct as ‘grossly offensive’ and said: “He behaved disgracefully, rudely and clearly in contempt of court. “All he wants to do is express his views. “He doesn’t give two hoots about how he should behave in court.”
