AN office in Widnes could be converted into a dental practice after blueprints were handed over to Halton Council.

The ground floor premises at 72 Albert Road could be refurbished into the medical facility.

A design and access statement on behalf of applicant, Dr Qaisar Jaffri, said that proposed alterations includes internal refurbishments and fitting out works.

The statement, included in the application by planning agents Team2Design, said that the Albert Road premises was last used as an office by Welcome Financial Services which stopped trading around five years ago.

The document said: “The property had remained vacant since and there were no interested parties in this premises.”

The applicant is considering relocating their current dental practice at 125 Albert Road to the larger accomodation at the proposed location.

It added that ‘full fitting out works’ would be undertaken along with full repairs and a refurbishment to provide five surgeries.

The document said: “There will be no alterations to the shop front windows and entrance, or any other alterations to the external elements of the premises/building with the exception of carrying out any essential repairs and new signwriting of the practice’s name on the existing signboard.

“There are well established public transport links to the town centre by bus.

“The premises are within walking distances from rail, bus stops.

“Access for pedestrians within the locality is readily enabled by the walkway pavement network of the town centre.”
