Rieu concert coming ‘live’ to The Brindley
CLASSICAL music fans will be in for a treat with a Runcorn screening of a concert of ‘the king of waltz’s’ annual Maastricht concert.
Andre Rieu and his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra will be performing in the stunning medieval backdrop of Andre’s hometown with sopranos, tenors and special guests.
Organisers said Andre delivers ‘an unforgettable musical experience full of humour, fun and emotion for all ages’.
The screening will take place at The Brindley in Runcorn on Sunday, July 24.
Cinema Live’s presentation of Andre Rieu’s 2016 Maastricht Concert In Cinemas features host Charlotte Hawkins, who introduces the show and conducts an interview with Andre Rieu the moment he steps off stage, exclusively for cinema audiences.
Organisers said Andre Rieu’s 2016 Maastricht Concert is shaping up to be his biggest and most spectacular concert ever to screen in cinemas.
The concert is approximately three hours long including a 15-minute intermission.
The satellite-delivered show is recorded several days prior to the cinema screening, during Andre Rieu’s 2016 Maastricht Concert summer season.
The spoken parts are in English and Dutch with English subtitles. Its rating as live is a 12A. Commenting on this year’s event, Rieu said: “Every year we find ways to make my hometown concerts a unique experience for our audiences in the square, as well as those who watch us in the cinemas.
