AS students honoured for achievement
TALENTED first year A-level students at a Widnes college have been honoured and recognised at an annual ceremony.
Cronton Sixth Form College held for the event for its AS-level students.
A college spokesman said that the students were awarded for ‘continually demonstrating an enthusiastic and hardworking attitude’ during their first year at Cronton and achieving above and beyond in all areas.
Students who have completed some of Cronton’s Prestigious University Programme schemes, such as the Lancaster University Mentors Scheme and the Liverpool University Scholars Scheme, were also presented with certificates.
Cronton Sixth Form’s head of centre Leeann Bellfield said: “It was fantastic to honour our talented AS students this year.
“We are very proud of their hard work and outstanding behaviour at all times.
“Many have also demonstrated an excellent work ethic through extra college activities such as our Prestigious Universities Programme, performances, international visits, work experience and as college ambassadors.
“We hope they all have a great summer break and look forward to welcoming them back in September, along with all of our new students.” Winners List AS Student Of The Year In Biology –Jamie Thompson
