‘We’re all thrilled’

STUDENTS at a Widnes school are celebratin­g their achievemen­ts in this year’s GCSEs.

Saints Peter And Paul Catholic College on Highfield Road have experience­d a ‘boost’ in this year’s exam results.

Students with eight or more A* and A grades include Emily Bonnon, Claudia Ainge-Hammond, Sian McGerty and Georgia Shaw with 10 each.

Bethany Abraham, Chloe Beswick, Joseph Carson, Evie Hignett, Shannon Mercer, and Hannah Sorvel all achieved nine of the higher grades with Sarah Jones, Ben Joseph, and Sean Loftus all scoring eight.

Following two years of hard work, staff and governors were keen to congratula­te the students.

Principal Wendy White said: “We are absolutely delighted with these results; so many students are celebratin­g outstandin­g achievemen­t.

“In addition to seeing so many individual­s making stunning progress, we have numerous department­s who are getting great results year on year.

“We are so proud of the students and it’s great to see their commitment and hard work pay off. ”

Head of college Melissa Roberts added: “It makes us extremely proud to see our students reap the rewards of all their hard work and commitment.

“This year group have been a pleasure to work with and we are thrilled that so many of them are staying on in our sixth form to carry on working with our caring and dedicated staff.”
