Glenn will Squeeze a few hits in

-

GLENN Tilbrook will be returning to Widnes later this year. The voice and face of Squeeze will be playing at The Studio in Lacey Street on Wednesday, November 23.

It is more than 40 years since he first answered Chris Difford’s advert inviting like-minded people to form the what became the evergreen band.

Music fans can expect to hear classic hits such as Muscles From A Shell, Up The Junction, Take Me I’m Yours, Slap And Tickle, Goodbye Girl, Another Nail In My Heart, Tempted, Is That Love, and Black Coffee In Bed.

There will also be a few recent tunes and the occasional cover rendition of a personal favourite.

A spokesman said: “Don’t be surprised to be in awe of his musicianship or how the voice continues to grow in strength while remaining unmistakably Glenn Tilbrook.

“Contrary to the title of his last album, Happy Ending, there is no end in sight for Glenn whether it be solo, a duo with Chris or Squeeze.

“The song writing ability remains undimmed, as witnessed by a Guardian journalist who wrote in amazement as the audience in Bristol in September last year yelled out to hear the new songs from Cradle To The Grave along with the songs from his substantial back catalogue.”

Doors open at 7.30pm and support is from singer/songwriter Greg Oldfield. Tickets cost £16.50. To book, visit The Studio in Lacey Street or go to www.seetickets.com
