FOUNDER members of the Widnes Vikings Business Ambassador Network have been thanked by the club for their support after renewing their membership for a second year.

The scheme supports the work of the Vikings in the borough, which is principally delivered by the club’s affiliated charitable arm the Vikings Sports Foundation who were recently crowned, 2016 Foundation Of The Year at the Man Of Steel Awards.

The Business Ambassador Network provides firms and organisations with the opportunity to support the club’s work through their corporate social responsibility agendas while being able to access innovative business networking and marketing opportunities ● through four events across the year. Richard Munson, Vikings community integrated director, said he is looking forward to the scheme continuing next year.

He said: “I would like to thank our founder ambassadors for their confidence in renewing their membership for a second year.

“I firmly believe that the collective support of the network, of which there are now over 50 members, was instrumental in us being recognised as the Foundation Of The Year by the RFL as the financial support provided allowed us to trial some different, and quite innovative programmes which continue to deliver real community benefit’.

“Importantly though, it has been really pleasing to hear that the members got some real business benefits out of their membership and I look forward to continuing to evolve the scheme into 2017.”

Firms renewing their membership for 2017 include NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group, Halton Borough Council, Runcorn coach firm Anthony’s Travel, Astute Smart Home Solution, Backhouse Group, Bramwell Morris, Electrod UK Ltd, FDL Packaging Group, Liverpool John Moores University, Office Bridge Solutions, Riverside College, Skin Deep Aesthetics, Steppingstone Group, White Moss Nursery & Garden Centre, and the Mersey Gateway Project.
