Peter’s prepared for sister act at panto
ACTOR and director Peter Kosta is the latest performer to join the cast of the Halton pantomime Cinderella at The Brindley this winter.
Peter, who once understudied for Carry On star Bernard Breslaw, will play one of the Ugly Sisters.
He has many West End credits on his CV as well as multiple turns as animal characters, from Freddie Fox in The Rupert Bear Show and Puss in Puss In Boots to Mother in Mother Goose and Dick Whittington’s Cat.
He took flight as a tap dancing bat and a bluebird in Jack And The Beanstalk, and donned the garb of a costumed vigi- lante to play Batman’s sidekick Robin in Bugs Bunny Meets The Superheroes. Peter was also the official life-size Roland Rat and Channel Tunnel mascot Marcus Mole.
In the West End he has appeared in shows including Why Not Stay For Breakfast?, The Clandestine Marriage, Tarantara! Tarantara!, Godspell and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jeeves.
In the regions he has acted in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Happy Days and played Charlie Magee in The Lucky Nugget Show for the opening of EuroDisneyland, where he became an assistant show director.
A panto spokesman said he also directed the ‘hugely successful’ adult pantomimes Sinderfella and Dick Whittington in London.
In New York as assistant director he produced Mike Reed’s musical Oscar!
At The Brindley he will join Desperate Scousewife Charlie Griffiths; 80s pop star Sonia; Andrew Curphey; Miss British Isles, Rebecca Lake; and Romford’s Rikki Stone, a veteran of numerous pantos all over the country.
Prince Charming will be played by actor and model Christopher Pym, originally from Warrington, but working in London after hitting national fame after ● Any Dream BBC1’s search for a Joseph, Will Do.
Peter said: “He said: “It’s always a joy to be back in the North West. My professional career began not far from here, touring with The Argyle Theatre For Youth.
“The cast members all seem amazingly talented and I can’t wait to start rehearsing.”
