Stadium put on a gr-eight performanc­e as they power past the Stute

ON Monday evening in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Widnes Bowling Club 501 League continued.

Goldmine at home to Mill Brow took the first game through Adam Durbin.

Dave Jones then levelled for the Brow. Goldmine took the lead again via Peter Mullally but once more the Brow drew level, this time through Paul Linger & Chris Bright.

Goldmine rallied taking two in a row through pairs James Holden & Peter Mullally and Sean Bell & Adam Mullally to put them on the brink of victory. Paul Linger recovered a point for the Brow, but Goldmine were now on a roll as they took the final two games securing the match 6-3 through John Taylor and Adam Mullally.

The Majors Arms at home to the Mersey Hotel took the first game through Nicky Duff.

Rob Cotty then levelled for the Mersey.

The Majors then powered away winning four in a row to ensure their victory as Luke Carey, Luke Carey & Nicky Duff, Tony O’Grady & Andy O’Grady and Darren Attwood & Kev Grice were all successful on the oche.

Ray Cowley took the next game for the Mersey, but the Majors Arms claimed the next two games wrapping up the match 7-2 as Darren Attwood and Kev Grice were both winners.

Simms Cross Institute at home to Halton Stadium saw the Stadium’s Neil Ward (18 darts and 120 finish) take the first game. Glyn Owen then levelled for the Stute, but that was as good as it got for them.

Halton Stadium proceeded to take the remaining seven games and the match through Kevin Garcia, Kevin Garcia & Eddie Dootson, Joe Price & Kenny Murphy, Colin Rigby & Alan Clark, Joe Kelly (16 darts and 180), Eddie Dootson (18 darts and 96 finish) and John Kilkenny.

Widnes Bowling Club at home to Widnes RUFC conceded the first game to the rugby club’s Scott Davies.

Alex McGill then levelled for the Bowler while a further two wins from teammates Mark Smith and Joe Batty & Scott Grady gave them a healthy lead. The Wids recovered a point through Ros Davies & A Davies, only to see a further two wins from the Bowler’s Alex McGill & James Brown and Dave Gerrard to ensure their victory.

Jordan Davies and Paul Murty took the final two games for the Wids as the match finished 5-4 in the Bowling Club’s favour.
