Pyjama party fundraiser for charity

-

HUNDREDS of babies and children on a swimming programme with groups in Runcorn took to the water in their pyjamas to raise £2,680 for a mental health charity.

Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire, which runs classes at Beechwood Community Pool and the Holiday Inn in Wood Lane, held its annual week-long pyjama event, which includes teaching water safety and survival skills, after asking members which cause to donate cash to.

Parents decided on Visyon, which supports the emotional health of children under 11, young people and their families.

The cash raised by Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire will go towards supporting the charity’s younger ● groups, which have long waiting lists.

Rachel Bateson, of Puddle Ducks, said: “Our Charity PJ Week is a great way of teaching our swimmers important lifesaving skills in a fun and relaxed environment, whilst raising money for a great cause. We were delighted to fundraise for Visyon, they do fantastic work locally and have sup- ported one of our Puddle Ducks families.

“We want to thank all of the children for joining us and for all of their great work in raising £2,680.

“We couldn’t have raised this amount without the generous support of Lloyds, who have provided match funding and will also be holding their own fundraising day for Visyon.”
