Partnership formed with learning disabled charity

-

A PARTNERSHIP has been launched between Widnes Vikings and a charity based in the North West which supports people with learning disabilities and their families.

The Supporting People Achieving Real Choice (SPARC) project was given a tour of the Select Security Stadium. The Vikings have joined with SPARC, which was first established in July 1995.

The partnership has been launched to provide help in Halton and will involve both organisations offering pastoral support to one another, as well as unique experiences for individuals to engage with.

Joe Purcell led a tour of the Select Security Stadium for a large group which included the museum, trophy room, the I-Pitch and the players performance centre.

Vikings education partnerships manager Dan Scott said: “I am glad that members of the SPARC project thoroughly enjoyed their tour of the ● stadium. I am delighted that the Vikings are able to launch the partnership with the SPARC project, it is a great programme and one that we are keen to work closely with them on a range of programmes.”

Cath Mannion from SPARC added: “I would personally like to thank Joe and Dan.

“They were both very welcoming to all of the SPARC members on the tour and made sure that the members all had a good time throughout.”
