Low will be one of the year’s highs

● SINGER and songwriter Andy Fairweathe­r Low is coming to The Brindley in the New Year.

Andy Fairweathe­r Low And The Low Riders will play on Friday, February 24.

Any rose to ’60s stardom as the lead singer in Amen Corner, who clocked up hit after hit such as Bend Me Shape Me, Hello Suzy and (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice.

He later followed with solo hits such as Wide Eyed And Legless.

Andy has also worked with Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour and many more.

In 2014, The Low Riders played a show at The New Theatre in Cardiff as part of a tour and the show, filmed and recorded for release as a DVD/double live CD.

In May 2015 Andy and the band were the opening act for Eric Clapton’s 70th birthday tour starting at Madison Square Garden, New York.

A Halton Borough Council spokesman said: “A world tour as musical director with Roger Waters’ band then a European tour with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings might be difficult to top for most people, but not for Andy Fairweathe­r Low who released the album the Zone-O-Tone in 2014 with his band the Low Riders containing some of the world’s finest musicians in Dave Bronze, Paul Beavis and Nick Pentelow.”
