Deadline passes for views on draft plan
TIME has run out for Halton residents to comment on Cheshire Fire Authority’s 2017-18 draft risk management plan.
The deadline passed on Tuesday, January 3.
The service said it consulted with the public, other organisations, stakeholders and staff.
CFRS’s draft plan outlines a second review of its emergency response functions to reflect risk and demand until 2020, following a previous programme of chance that began in 2013 and included the construction of fire stations at Penketh, Alsager, Powey Lane near Chester and a fire station and safety centre at Lymm.
Key measures set out in the 201718 plan are a proposed increase in the council tax precept by 1.99% in 2017-18 and reducing hydraulic platforms from three to two.
Other measures tabled include: ● A review of duty systems at Penketh, Birchwood, Macclesfield and Wilmslow fire stations. ● Introduce an additional fire engine at Crewe and Ellesmere Port fire stations, staffed during weekdays. ● Roll out a pilot programme to ● respond to cardiac arrests alongside North West Ambulance Service. ● Deliver ‘safe and well’ visits to 40,000 households to provide health information as well as fire safety advice. ● Develop a policy to reduce the number of attendances to false alarms caused by automatic fire alarm systems. ● Promote the need to install sprinkler systems in schools.
