Sixth-formers take to Alps for skiing trip

ADVENTUROUS students from Widnes travelled to the French Alps for a magnificent skiing trip.
A-level and applied science pupils from Cronton Sixth Form College spent seven days in the resort of Alpe D’Huez.
Students ranged from beginner to advanced level skiers and all received four hours of daily tuition from expert ski instructors.
The students enjoyed perfect weather throughout which added to the breathtaking experience of ascending 11,500ft via cable car to the summit of Pic Blanc Mountain.
From here the group took in beautiful clear views of France.
Some students then skied back down with instructors and staff on the Sarenne, the longest black run in the world at 16km in length.
Along with skiing, the students were able to bond in the eveningss and took part in fun activities s including sledging, a game of laserr tag set within an ice maze, movie e nights and a quiz night.
Cronton deputy head Ben Barton n said: “It was a fantastic experiencee for all of the students and one they y will remember for years to come.
“The skiing, the culture and thee location provided huge inspiration n for all of our students and they alll agreed that they would definitely be e coming back!”
