Litter pick invite

-

A WIDNES councillor is seeking volunteers for an organised litter pick this Saturday to show her support for what is hoped to be the nation’s biggest ever neighbourhood clean-up.

Cllr Andrea Wall, Labour, Kingsway, hopes residents will join her and half a million others out and about across the country this month.

Volunteers are being sought for her fourth organised litter pick, to take place at Stewards’ Brook from 11am2pm on Saturday, March 18.

To take part email andrea. wall@halton.gov.uk or call 07795 390 979.

She said all equipment will be provided on the day.

On the same day with the help of area forum funding, Kingsway ward’s three councillors Andrea Wall, June Roberts and Margaret Horabin, have organised a community skip Scheme, providing residents with the chance to de-clutter and dispose of unwanted household items or excess general waste.

The skips will be available from 8am to noon on Saturday, March 18, at Select Security Stadium, Squires Avenue and Simms Cross Primary School.

Cllr Wall said: “The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up the litter that blights our landscape and communities and we’re delighted to be taking part and bringing people together to tackle an issue that many people care passionately about.” ●
