BRIDGE LAUNCH IDEAS

- B Cunningham Widnes Edith Griffiths Via Facebook

I WOULD like to add my nominations for someone to open the new bridge.

I think Lucy Meacock, the Granada Reports presenter, should be offered the honour.

She often presents awards to Halton people. She would be an excellent choice.

A large plaque should be placed, near the toll booths, so people can see who opened the bridge.

Some people are driving so fast over the current bridge, that they can not read the plaque, that says Princess Alexandra opened the bridge, and not the Queen.

My second choice is the Prime Minister, Theresa May.

After all, it was the Tories that got the bridge built.

Labour councillors had the idea, but the Tories turned the idea into a reality.

The Labour Party were too busy running up a £160bn Deficit, to build a new bridge.

My final choice is the local Tory MP Graham Evans.

He could be the Prime Minister’s representative, if the PM is too busy with Brexit, to open the bridge.

The taxi driver warned the gentleman before boarding the taxi that due to road works there may be delays which affects the fare.

QUESTION: Why can’t the taxi drivers use the bus routes temporarily while all the road works are in progress?

It would make taxi rides a lot cheaper and less stressful for the taxi drivers who are trying to earn a living.

I would imagine that people are not using taxis at the moment because of the fares.
