Projects urged to bid for Lotto cash

NEIGHBOURH­OOD projects across Runcorn and Widnes and the wider borough have been invited to bid for up to £10,000 in Big Lottery funding.

Halton Council’s external funding team is to hold the ‘meet the funder’ session in the Council Chamber at Runcorn Town Hall on Heath Road from 10am-noon on Wednesday, May 3.

Big Lottery Fund staff will be available to discuss their Awards For All grant scheme, which offers boosts of up to £10,000 for a range of activities.

The event will consist of a presentati­on by Connor Cross, Big Lottery Fund’s regional officer, who will explain the initiative and how it works.

There will also be a chance to speak to him about proposed schemes.

Council staff will also be on hand to offer advice and guidance.

Places are limited anyone interested in booking should fill out and return the online form.

Cllr Eddie Jones (economic developmen­t) said: “The council is pleased to be able to continue our facilitati­on of community informatio­n events such as this.

“We also aid and support, through our external funding team, local groups in accessing grants and other monies to benefit our borough.

“This expertise is often invaluable.”
