Chemical giant Inovyn in move sponsor club’s kit
● RUNCORN chemical manufacturer Inovyn has given a junior rugby team in Widnes a boost by sponsoring its kit.
A spokeswoman for the firm said West Bank Bears under-10s (U10s) is based in one of the top 10% most deprived areas in the UK.
Inovyn, a subsidiary of chemical giants Ineos, donated £500 to pay for the kits, which she said make the young players feel proud to be part of the team.
West Bank Bears offers children and young people the chance to take part in rugby league and learn about physical health and wellbeing.
John Stankevitch, team coach, said: “We have a very talented group of young players at West Bank Bears U10s. But not only are they talented in terms of their rugby league abilities, they are a fantastic bunch with great personalities, who use rugby league to make friends and get fir and strong.”
Janet Ward, Inovyn’s UK communications manager, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to help the West Bank Bears U10s team with their new smart kit and we think they look fantastic with our logo proudly printed on the front.
“We are always happy to be able to help good causes in the community and this sponsorship is particularly important to us as it is a great way of building relationships with people, both adults and children, who are right on our doorstep.”
