Awards delight for Runcorn

-

RUNCORN LINNETS reaped the rewards for their recent excellent form with an awards double from the Hallmark Security League.

Ahead of Saturday’s home victory over Maine Road, club manager Michael Ellison received the Premier Division Club of the Month award for March while centre forward Freddie Potter collected the month’s top player accolade.

Both awards were made by Hallmark Security League chairman, Paul Lawler.

Meanwhile, a collection took place at the game for three children’s cancer charities as part of a community-wide effort in memory of former Runcorn Town junior player, Charlie Lunt on the first anniversary of his death aged 10.

Contributions from fans were followed by donations of £120 from Runcorn Linnets first-team players and £50 by Maine Road FC. ● Runcorn Linnets will be hosting this season’s Reusch Challenge Cup Final on behalf of the Hallmark Security League.
