CORBYN IS A ‘MILLSTONE’

- Richard J Globe, via email

AS a non-political party supporter but hopefully as a sensible-thinking individual, I am compelled to write with the following warning.

Jeremy Corbyn, although a nice person and obviously a sincere individual, does not have the necessary qualities to become a Prime Minister.

Those readers with good memories will remember the bad old days when Michael Foot, another left wing party leader, brought down the Labour Party which then became unelectable for many years.

He disappeared into oblivion and eventually Tony Blair took charge. Left wing politics and views which are outdated, are certainly not welcome in the 21st century, and in reality should have stayed in the last century.

Those Labour Party members and supporters who honestly believe that Jeremy is this country’s saviour have got it totally wrong, because he is cer- tainly not the person to govern this country.

In fact, Jeremy has become a millstone around Labour’s neck – just like Michael Foot.

Labour MPs need to elect someone who has both the authority and respect to become a Prime Minister and comfortably win the election or again the party will become unelectable for years to come.

Political reporters need to keep an eye on the forthcoming local authority elections, because if Labour loses heavily because of Jeremy Corbyn and his left-wing views, then it should give a clear indication to political observers of what direction the general election results are heading for. ●
