AN open-air production of Wind In The Willows will be staged at Norton Priory this summer.

Following their hit tours of Alice In Wonderland this spring and The Wizard Of Oz last year, Immersion Theatre Company will be at the Cheshire heritage venue as part of a 42-date tour on Monday, August 21.

Immersion Theatre was established in 2010 by producers and Stage One alumni, James Tobias and Rochelle Parry.

It initially worked at offWest End venues, where they carved out a reputation for exciting reworkings of classics.

The theatre company produced its first tour in 2014, and three years later, Immersion is touring with drama, family theatre, open-air musicals, and musical theatre, as well as being producers of pantomime.

A Wind In The Willows show spokesman said: “Pack your picnics and join Ratty, Mole, Badger, and the fantastically irrepressible Toad as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime, culminating in a colourful battle to save Toad Hall from the mischievous weasels.

“Immersion Theatre proudly bring their trademark style and energy to the riverbank with heaps of audience interaction, stunning costumes, toe-tapping music and larger-than-life characters.

“It’s the perfect summer treat for all the family.

“At present, Immersion Theatre is producing the 2017 UK Tour of Our House starring Deena Payne ( Emmerdale’s Viv Hope), Wind In The Willows (Summer 2017 UK Tour), Robin Hood (2017 pantomime), The Wizard Of Oz (2017 pantomime) and The Jungle Book (Spring 2018 UK Tour).

He added: “Their previous work includes UK tours of Alice In Wonderland, Journey’s End, The Wizard Of Oz, Rapunzel, Romeo & Juliet, The Taming Of The Shrew, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

“Immersion Theatre were also associate producers on the critically-acclaimed 2016 UK Tour of Little Shop Of Horrors, starring X-Factor’s Rhydian Roberts.”
