Powerhouse in spotlight
THE North Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) will be one of the topics on the agenda when Science And Manufacturing Network (SMN) holds a morning of talks in Runcorn.
Heath Business And Technical Park will host the event, which is taking place from 9-11am on Tuesday, May 16, and being held by the Science And Manufacturing Network in association with Halton Chamber Of Commerce And Enterprise.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Event speakers are Brendan Bilton, who will be discussing how to raise start-up capital; Doug Stellman, of Mercia Technologies, who will be talking about venture capital funding; and Rachael Rowlands-Jones, a ● Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) manager with a photovoltaic materials PhD and masters degree in chemistry; and Gary Guest, of FW Capital, whose section will examine the NPIF.
Gary manages the recentlylaunched NPIF debt finance fund in the North West, which provides loans of £100,000£750,000 to small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) to support their growth.
Gary has been providing finance to SMEs for the last 22 years and most recently led the delivery of the North West Fund For Loans Plus scheme, lending £43m to more than 200 SMEs in the North West.
Rachael Rowlands-Jones manages KTN’s formulation activities.
She previously worked as a test manager for Dyesol UK Ltd focusing on titanium paste and conductive ink formulations, materials characterisation and degradation.
“Her background also includes work as research scientist at the Knowledge Centre For Materials Chemistry at The University Of Liverpool where she facilitated industry-led research and development projects on materials chemistry and conducted research in formulation of cleansing personal care products.
The event is free to attend for Halton Chamber and SMN members.
