CHESNUT LODGE GALA

- Sue Rathbone Chesnut Lodge School Professor Bernard Keavney BHF funded researcher

REGARDING a piece you put in the Widnes Weekly News on Thursday, May 11 (Help our garden dream come true - p10), can I just clarify some things from the article which weren’t quite correct.

The Gala will be going ahead on May 20 as planned, we have sold a good number of tickets (only a few left now) and have lots of prizes from local businesses which will be used in our auction, raffle and ‘choose a prize’ board. We are extremely grateful to all who have bought tickets for the event and those purchasing raffle tickets etc. It has been a very successful fundraising event to date and we are confident it will be a fantastic night. therapies which could help thousands of families worldwide.

My project is just one of over 1,000 research projects that the BHF currently funds at universities across the UK, investigating every aspect of heart and circulatory disease – from causes and better drugs to improving surgical techniques. Each of these projects are only made possible by the BHF’s generous supporters and each unwanted item donated this spring brings us one step closer to the next big breakthrough in heart research. I cannot thank the people of the north-west enough for helping to support such an important and worthy cause.
