Biker badly hurt

A 17-YEAR-OLD biker was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving a bus in Runcorn on Sunday.

Witnesses are being sought after the incident, which happened at the junction of Brookvale Avenue South and Palacefields Avenue.

A Cheshire police spokeswoman said the crash involved a Kawasaki motorbike and a single-decker bus.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) was called to Saltash Avenue at 9.49pm and the motorcyclist, a 17-yearold boy from Warrington, was taken to Aintree University Hospital with serious injuries including to his head.

Julie Linforth, Arriva North West marketing manager, said: “We can confirm an Arriva Bus in Runcorn was involved in a serious incident with a motorcyclist. We are unable to comment any further as this is now part of an ongoing police investigation.”
