Financial impact of cancer

- Kieran Howlett Communications manager Macmillan North West

IF you have cancer, or have had a diagnosis in the past, you might have noticed getting travel insurance isn’t as easy as it used to be.

Perhaps your premiums were higher than usual, you had to change your plans due to the unexpected costs, or maybe you had to travel with no cover for cancer-related claims or were refused cover completely? Whatever your issue, Macmillan wants to hear from you.

As part of our ‘Make Money One Less Worry’ campaign we want to raise awareness of the hidden, and often unexpected, financial impact of cancer. To help us we are looking for people who, because of their cancer, have had difficulty with travel insurance and would like to add their voice to our campaign.

If you would like to share your story please get in touch with brief details, and a daytime telephone number, and send them to khowlett@macmillan.org.uk

In the meantime, if you and anyone you know has cancer and needs advice about travel insurance you can visit the Macmillan website and search ‘Travel Insurance’ or call the Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (Mon-Fri 9am – 8pm).
