VIKINGS IN THE COMMUNITY Club’s education drive set for successful year

-

APROGRAMME run by Widnes Vikings supporting 18 to 24-year-olds across Halton into education or employment will continue.

The Talent Match Plus programme supports Widnes Vikings to work in the borough to support and grow the skills of young men.

It also helps to provide a quality environment in which they can develop.

Those previously on the course have ranged from people who have no qualifications or no work experience, to new fathers seeking for a new career path.

Talent Match already has a huge strike rate with more than 80% of those on the programme gaining quality work experience during their time with the initiative

More than 50% of participants have also been given interviews for both fulltime and part-time positions.

Widnes Vikings education partnerships manager Dan Scott said: “We are delighted to be continuing with our Talent Match programme. The programme offers an alternative environment for people to come and gain vital skills that can make them ‘job ready’ for full-time employment.

“With over 80% of participants on the programme gaining work experience following the course in 2016, we are striving to achieve similar levels of success in 2017.”
