Hunt for lovesick Colin

-

● A LOVESICK snake has gone missing in Runcorn leaving his owner heartbroken and keen to find him.

Andrea Forshaw, 52, of Trentham Street, discovered Colin, a Miami corn snake, had slithered off on Saturday afternoon from her ground-floor flat.

Mrs Forshaw believes he made his escape on Saturday afternoon while she had opened the door briefly. Usually he is allowed to roam the living room with the doors shut.

Colin is 5ft-long and terracotta red in colour.

She said residents have nothing to fear of Colin, who although feeling amorous, is very ‘placid’ and does not bite.

The snake may have gone in search of a mate having been spurned by Lilith, another snake belonging to Mrs Forshaw, although she stressed she is not mating them.

She now fears he might be attacked by a cat on his travels and Cheshire police have also issued an appeal on social media.

The five-year-old snake was a gift from Mrs Forshaw’s son two years ago following the death of another beloved pet snake.

Mrs Forshaw said: “When I opened the door, I thought he was in his hide but he must have managed to come out behind me. It’s the first time ever.

“He loves the deeper grass, I’m going looking now just in case.

“When I used to take him for a little roam on the grass, so he had some fresh air, he used to make a beeline for the bushes and sit under there for a bit.”

Anyone who has seen Colin, or found him, can call Cheshire police on 101 or Mrs Forshaw on 07710 237 093.
