Auditions for pantomime

-

● SLEEPING Beauty has been unveiled as this year’s Halton pantomime at The Brindley in Runcorn.

Following the success of Cinderella last year, Polka Dot Pantomimes and Halton Borough Council are searching for an all-singing, all-dancing chorus of boys and girls aged nine to 18.

No stage experience is needed but producers welcome anyone with a genuine interest in theatre to audition.

Between 18 and 24 young people are needed to form three teams who will play alternate days during the run, performing alongside the professional leading cast.

Auditions are scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 1, from 2-5pm at The Brindley.

Those hoping to try out for a part must be no younger than nine years old by September 1, 2017.

Audition packs must be filled out and brought on the day of audition and must have two recent photographs attached, with passport style the preferred format.

Every child performing also requires a performance licence, which will be arranged by Polka Dot Pantomimes but needs parental support.

Pete Bentham, The Brindley’s marketing officer, has urged young performers to seize the opportunity.

He said: “Dazzling costumes, fabulous scenery and some truly magical surprises are just a few of the things you can expect when you come to see the panto.”
