HOCKEY is proving to be a hit in Halton with special sessions organised for a anyone from the district wantin ing to take up the sport for the fi first time or perhaps reacquaint th themselves with a stick once a again.

Lisa Gordon from the Back To H Hockey campaign, said: “The fi first three sessions have so far a attracted a variety of men and w women which has included par- ents of our current junior players, people who haven’t played since school, players wanting to get back into hockey after a long break, friends of our existing players and also people who attended the last Back To Hockey two years ago.

“This year has also been the most successful year we have had so far.

“The sessions are free, fun and informal and no previous experience of hockey or a specific level of fitness is required. ●

“We also provide all of the equipment. They are on a Tuesday night until June 13 from 7pm to 8pm at The Heath School in Clifton Road, Runcorn.” ● Runcorn Hockey Club currently has five teams – three men’s and two ladies sides – with players young and old and of all abilities across the club and all new players are warmly welcomed.

Runcorn Hockey Club (whose clubhouse is at Runcorn Sports Club on Moughland Lane) is going from strength to strength with thriving junior coaching sessions and newly-formed teams have now had strong first seasons.
