Sessions at The Studio

-

A SERIES of fundraising events will take place at a Widnes music venue.

The Studio Sessions involve the Lacey Street venue, which is a vital home to arts projects and groups run by the charity LOOSE which provides free or affordable access to music and the arts.

The first event will take place on Saturday, July 15.

There will be live performances from Edgar Jones, The Racket, Sugarmen, Factory and special guests who are yet to be announced.

The Studio spokeswoman and project manager Louise Nulty said: “LOOSE are thrilled to be working in partnership with Sound City on this event, it is so important for our members and regular performers to have this opportunity to delve into the professional music scene, through the industry panel and Q&A session.

“It’s great to see Dave Pichilingi – Liverpool Sound City festival director – returning to The Studio, where he first started promoting as well as performing himself.

“We want our members and supporters to have a really great experience both with the panel and gig and thanks to funding from The Big Lottery we can open it up to everyone as a free event!”

Alongside the live programme, a panel of music industry professionals will cover a wide range of topics in open discussion and keynote speeches.

There will be appearances from Jane Weaver, Neville Skelly, Mark Ainsworth, Ian McHale, Mark Simcock, Darren Lappin, and Rebecca Ayres.

The event is taking place in partnership with Sound City Suburbia and Liverpool Sound City Festival.

Since its inception in 2008, Liverpool Sound City has grown into one of the most important and well-respected cultural events in the UK.
