Speak to police and councillor­s

A DAY of action will be held in a Widnes neighbourh­ood for residents to speak to police officers and councillor­s.

Halton Borough Council and Cheshire police will be holding an event in Farnworth as part of the Street A Week initiative on the weekend of Saturday, July 8, and Sunday, July 9.

From 10am to 3pm on each days on the green on Grosvenor Road off Lunts Heath Road, ward councillor­s police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) will be there to answer questions.

PCSO Caroline Griffiths said: “There will also be highly visible patrols, crime prevention informatio­n and door-to-door anti-social behaviour surveys.”

Cllr Dave Cargill, Halton Borough Council’s executive board member for community safety, said: “I would encourage anyone who lives in the ward to go along and have a chat.” ●

Police will also be carrying out speed enforcemen­t and dealing with parking issues on the way.

The Street A Week initiative is taking place all over Cheshire this year to enhance contact with residents and maximise intelligen­ce.
