EASY WAY TO CHECK BENEFIT PAYMENTS

- Jean Brain Welfare Rights Manager

CLAIMING ESA? Are you being paid the correct amount of benefit?

Of course I am, you will say, as you trust the DWP to pay you what you should be paid.

Unfortunately, they frequently get it wrong and people end up being underpaid without realising.

We know of one case where a claimant had been underpaid since 2012 and ended up being due a payment of £17,500!

Approximately £1.6bn in benefits is underpaid each year. So how can you find out if you are being underpaid? Well don’t expect the DWP to tell you!

As an independent advice agency Benefitanswers aims to ensure people receive all benefits available to them.

For a free check to confirm you are not being underpaid send an A5 stamped self-addressed envelope to “Benefit Check”, Benefitanswers, PO Box 2040, Preston PR5 9AL. ●
