FINED FOR RESISTING PC

A RUNCORN man has been fined £100 for resisting a police constable.

Mark Anthony Bennett, 33, of Silkstone Crescent, Palacefields, pleaded guilty at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on July 14 having previously pleaded not guilty to the same charge on March 3.

Court papers said the matter related to an incident on Christmas Day in Widnes.

The offence took place while Bennett was subject to a 12-month conditional discharge imposed on August 30 for assault by beating.

Bennett must also pay £300 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
