Time to Offload life stresses
A NEW 10-week block of fixtures have been released by Widnes Vikings for a rugby league-based programme which gives men tools and inspiration to build their mental resilience.
Participants described the first batch of Offload sessions as ‘truly life changing’ and ‘a brilliant experience’.
The next programme started on Tuesday, July 4.
Offload is led by former players and other members of the rugby league fraternity including coaches and referees.
They share their experiences of managing the stresses of difficult moments in their lives and provide vital advice on how to stay mentally resilient.
The sessions are fun, relaxed and interactive.
They give participants unique experiences, such as the opportunity to train in the Vikings Performance Centre.
Offload is free and open to all men aged 16 to 65.
Offload programme lead Adam Daniels said: “We have seen the positive impact that Offload has on participants.
“With key speakers such as former Super League star Danny Sculthorpe, coach Phil Veivers, and referee Ian Smith attendees can gain brilliant insight from some of rugby league’s biggest names.
“Building positive mental health is important for all men, and we offer something unique and fun. I look forward to this new 10-week programme building on the success of the first.”
Offload is delivered in partnership with the independent charity Rugby League Cares.
Participants do not need any interest in or knowledge of rugby league to benefit as the course is accessible to everyone.
People are welcome to drop into any sessions and can join in at any stage.
They will take place every Tuesday from 6.30pm until 8pm at the Select Security Stadium.
