U9 Reds make Rose wilt with storming success in their season finale

HFH U9 Reds 12 Ince Rose Bridge U9 5 HALTON Farnworth Hornets’ U9s Reds finished their summer season with a great team display against a tough Wigan outfit.

Tyler Hollins led the way with a superb five-try performanc­e.

Zak Bennett and Daniel Houghton both bagged a brace whilst Lewis Baxter, Charlie Roberts and Jackson Tuihalamak­a all added singles.

Zak Bennett was nominated as top tackler and Alfie Evans picked up the coaches’ award.

After such a great effort, the whole team picked up the man-of-the-match award.

HFH U8 Reds 6 Culcheth Eagles U8 7 IN an equally-matched and good natured game it was Culcheth who came away with the win.

Going forward there was some awesome strong running from every Halton Farnworth Hornets player with Euan McPherson, Dylan Stephenson, George Sanderson and Aiden Clarke making good yards against a strong-tackling Culcheth outfit.

The tries came from Ollie Jenkins and Cian Winstanley who each crossed once and James Prescott who bagged four tries.

In defence every player improved on previous performanc­es and all worked together making it difficult for Culcheth to make progress with Mathew Sinclair, Aiden Clarke and George Sanderson in particular shining.

It was James Prescott who was awarded the man-of-thematch honour and Ollie Jenkins covering the park with Cian Winstanley excelling co-recipients of the top tackler award. Due to the outstandin­g effort made by the youngsters, every player was given the coaches’ award. ●
